Recently, the “One Heart, the China Heart” Large-Scale Medical Public Welfare Activity for 2025 was held. As part of this initiative, free health consultation services were offered in Ma’erkang City, the capital of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. Medical volunteers from various institutions in Beijing, Guangdong, and other regions provided residents with a range of medical services, including examinations, diagnoses, and consultations for pertinent diseases across various medical disciplines. These include traditional Chinese medicine, pediatric cardiology, orthopedics, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular medicine, neurosurgery, stomatology, and ultrasound.
Early on Saturday morning, upon hearing the news of free clinical treatment, residents from Ma’erkang and its surrounding areas flocked to the designated treatment point at Ma’erkang National Unity Square. Long queues were formed for each department. Many individuals were elderly and had difficulty understanding Mandarin. Medical volunteers patiently communicated with them through interpreters, repeatedly disseminating health knowledge to ensure their understanding. On that day alone, free clinical treatment was extended to nearly 1,000 individuals while medications valued at over RMB 200,000 were distributed.
